Data Engineer

Leading retailer in downtown San Francisco is looking to bring on a Lead Data Engineer. This person will lead a highly-technical team of engineers that are developing the back end of the core platform. This person will be responsible for implementing new big data technologies, developing in Scala on top of Spark, and architecture and design of distributed systems.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Expertise in Java or functional programming language
  • Experience with Spark or similar non-relational database
  • Experience with distributed systems development

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Team player and strong communication, both written and verbal
  • Machine learning experience preferred
  • Advanced degree in CS or quantitative field
