Yesterday, Workbridge Chicago volunteered at The Greater Chicago Food Depository where they packaged emergency food kits and sorted and packed fresh bread. They had a blast, and loved working to help people in need!
Here's a shot of the crew before they headed out.
Back Row (from left to right): Alex, Riley, Kristina, Amanda, Zach, Dan, Ryan /Front Row (from left to Right): Kyle, Jessica, Max, Christine, Kevin, Courtney
They headed to the burbs to a HUGE wearhouse and got to work packing the emergency food kits.
Wendy, Group Leader said they were the fastest packers she'd ever seen (a little bit of Workbridge teamwork, for you). They packed over 1120 emergency food kits - that's 1120 lives they'll have saved if disaster strikes!
Recruiter Zach (shown above) did a great job of loading up the pallets.
Recruiter, Riley, and Marketing Specialist, Christine decided to make a little race out of taping boxes.
But we won't embarrass anyone by disclosing the winner.
Look at all those boxes they filled!
They finished the emergency kits so quickly that after a short break, were assigned to packing bread.
A few of our recruiters working hard with new friend, Neil, AKA Bread Master.
Their job was to check the dates on the loaves, search for mold, and neatly box up the good stuff. They ended up packing over 2000lbs of bread!
As you can see, they had a great time and can't wait to volunteer again!
